About
I am interested in research on occupational and environmental health related issues (clinical and preventive), OHS, gender studies and violence & injuries prevention activities as well.
My research work on occupational lung cancer was the first study in that specialty in Nepal. I have been involved in various activities/ studies on violence and injuries prevention in Nepal since 2006 as a National Consultant for WHO/Ministry of Health and Population, Nepal collaborative programme on Violence and Injury Prevention.
We are working on the project: Hidden Issue- Women and Girls Trafficking in Nepal for what we have received a Swedish Research Council International Planning Grant for 2010. Women and Girls Trafficking in Nepal is also a theme for my ongoing Post Doctorate Research Fellowship.
I am the only Graduate Member (Grad IOSH) of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, UK from Nepal. I am also International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH) National Secretary for Nepal for the tenure 2009-2012.
